League of Legends: Jungle Tier List

The latest patch, has made some changes to the jungler heroes. Hopefully we can show you what has changed, as well as to help you pick your champions.

Tier 1 - Nunu, Trundle, Lee Sin, Nocturne, Cho Gath, Warwick
Tier 2– Xin Zhao, Udyr, Fiddlesticks, Shaco, Amumu, Gangplank, Master Yi
Tier 3 - Olaf, Shen, Maokai, Gragas, Tryndamere, Jarvan, Akali, Alistar
Tier 4 – Rammus, Malphite, Irelia, Dr Mundo, Sion, Renekton, Mordekaiser,
Tier 5 - Karthus, Taric, Evelynn, Karma, Orianna, Jax, Nasus, Pantheon

This time Tier 1 will simply have the best 3 control junglers and the best 3 ganking junglers – though some are more hybrids than a pure role.

Tier 2 – These junglers are the strongest after the gods. They usually excel at most of the aspects of jungling and are far and beyond in one or two. They have fewer weaknesses than most other junglers and may have a niche ability unique to them. When you want to excel at jungling – you come to these first.

Tier 3 - These junglers are very similar to Tier 2 heroes. They are so similar that they’re basically interchangeable and are very capable of competing with tier 2 junglers. The only reason they are in a separate bracket is due to them being not as well rounded or someone above them is their superior mirror. Also for organization purposes.

Tier 4 - These junglers are weaker than the other junglers either due to naturally just not being suitable for the jungle or having to alter their optimal builds in order to jungle successfully. At the same time there are others above who are simply miles better and they bring nothing really unique to jungling. They’re usually prone to being dominated by stronger junglers.

Tier 5 - A special tier graded differently than the others. The junglers here CAN jungle but they usually have to impact their standard builds in interesting ways in order to successfully do so. Either the impact is minor, but noticeable, or major and could affect them later into the game. Placement is also a bit wishy washy.

What changed this patch

Fiddlesticks – The buffs helped a lot. Fiddlesticks IS NOT completely screwed if he loses blue. He can actually start at other places instead of blue and keep up quite well. The power to deal with dragon and baron really early is a huge plus. The change to dark wind helps his jungle be more flexible and I frankly believe he’s a lot stronger than before. Easy to say that he’s my go to AP jungler now instead of Cho Gath.

Shen – Gangplank happened and the global infinite jungle niche no longer only applies to him. However, Riot is planning on buffing his jungle and making him a dedicated jungler. Have fun with that.

Olaf – indirect nerfs just keep hurting him. He wasn’t such a well rounded as the rest and he had his speed giving him the edge – but other junglers are starting to become just as fast if not faster.

Udyr – He is hands down the fastest jungler in the game right now. It doesn’t change the fact that he still gets kited hard though.

Maokai – With blue buff this guy has as much control as Rammus does and as strong of an ult as Malphite’s. In fact, being able to spam his combo on a single person almost guarantees a kill and gives him the power to be a strong duelist. He is reliant on blue though.

Master Yi – kind of the same deal as olaf. Yi is reliant on RNG while others aren’t and at the same time the newer laners introduced make it a lot harder for Yi to actually kill one of them. The support carry bottom lane meta also changes that.

Gangplank – he’s pretty op right now and Riot agrees he needs to be toned down a bit. He’s really fast, his ganks are painful and he has the global presence gank. He’s just brutal. His Q slow should not be underestimated ESPECIALLY since it also is applied alongside the red slow.

New hero – Yorick
