Rift: Damage Parsers

If you don't have one, get one. Why? Because it helps you to determine Exactly what spells, in what combos, with what armor, and what weapon and buffs will help you ro do more damage, more heals, or proc more abilities.

The Rift Junkies RiftParser is a popular lightweight parser, however it is reportedly inaccurate and has limited options:

I recommend Advanced Combat Tracker (ACT). It takes more CPU to run and is a bit more confusing, but once you learn it, it will tell you just about everything.

  1. Go here: http://advancedcombattracker.com/
  2. Download and install.
  3. Go here : http://advancedcombattracker.com/download.php
  4. Scroll down to the plugins and download the Rift plugin.
  5. Save the Rift.cs file somewhere you can find it.
  6. Open ACT (Advanced Combat tracker).
  7. Close the ACT Startup Wizard.
  8. Go to the Plugins Tab in ACT.
  9. Click Add Plugin and browse to your Rift.cs file you just downloaded.
  10. Click the Enabled check box.
  11. Go to the Options Tab
  12. Click Miscellaneous at the top
  13. Click Open Log and browse to your CombatLog.txt (Usually in C:/Program Files/Rift Game/)
  14. Go to the Main tab and enjoy the amazing parser.

If you can't find CombatLog.txt type /combatlog in game and then go hit something so Rift will generate the log. If you still can't find it change the drop down in the popup Browse window to "Text Files" instead of "Game Logs"

Check the ACT website for detailed information on using it (http://advancedcombattracker.com/).

You will need to type /combatlog every time you restart the game to get a parser to start parsing. However you can also change some settings to ALWAYS load it. Keep in mind however this will after a time begin to fill up your Rift game directory. You will need to clean the combat log every so often, so that it doesn't get too big.

To set the combat log to ALWAYS log in game...

  1. Open rift.cfg file in the game folder
  2. update/add this line: LogCombatConsole = True
    • This line is within the [client] section.
